Russia River Cruise from Moscow to Saint-Petersburg aboard MS Chernyshevsky

We had been told that the cruise ship people had no information about us getting theatre tickets. It was a surprise when they told us that we wee going to the ballet theatre to see Swan Lake! We went with a group from the ship on a tour bus so it worked out to be a really nice evening! Thank you!

The ship we ended up on was the Chernyshevsky. It was an 1981 ship that had been updated and was very clean and the food was truly good! The crew did not speak enough English for having any conversation but were polite and friendly. The last night on the Konstintin was not so good. The rooms and bathrooms were even smaller than our previous ship.

The ports and tours were fine. The guides were good at their knowledge and spoke good English. Would have liked another port on the cruise and one less night in St. Pete.

The big frustration is trying to go through Russian Customs! It took three hours to clear Customs. Only two people were working the desks and there were over three hundred people to process! Going out of Moscow was another big mess. Large crowds of tourists and not enough people working security and flight check-in.
